Green Design System
Green is SEB’s in-house design system, created to support consistency and scalability across the bank’s digital products. It brings together components, design tokens, and guidelines into a shared framework used by both designers and developers.
As SEB’s digital ecosystem has grown, the need for a unified system has become essential to maintain quality, reduce duplication, and enable faster development across teams.
Green provides a common visual and structural foundation, ensuring that products feel coherent, accessible, and aligned with SEB’s brand across web and native platforms.
From Design to Implementation
To bridge the gap between design and development, we’ve built an internal studio where components can be tested in code, layouts explored, and typography refined in context.
The studio is used by designers, product teams, and developers as a shared environment to better understand the system, experiment with its building blocks, and learn how to apply it in practice.
Design at Scale
Working with Green means designing beyond individual interfaces and focusing on systems that scale across teams, platforms, and products. My role centers on shaping components, defining visual principles, and ensuring that design decisions hold up in different contexts.
A key part of the work is balancing flexibility with consistency, creating a system that supports variation while maintaining a clear and recognizable structure.
As SEB has not previously had a system at this level, a large part of the work involves supporting and guiding teams in how to use it. Through coaching, collaboration, and continuous refinement, Green becomes not just a tool for efficiency, but a way to raise the overall quality and consistency of design across the organization
